I am passionate about helping scientists share their research with the general public.

I use my training in oceanography, my experience with coordinating media from regional news to major international broadcast outlets, and my participation in multiple research operations at sea to translate science into visually compelling and understandable stories.

For the past several years I have been a contract video producer for Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego where I film and edit episodes of the series "A Scientist's Life" and contribute news releases and other video stories to the Scripps Oceanography YouTube channel. I also have helped develop and deliver media training to scientists as well as presenting camera skills workshops.

In addition, I am a trainer with UC San Diego's Research Communications team.
